Use our MCP to connect the AI you already use. New to MCPs? An MCP is just a plug that connects your RootNote data to platforms like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Add it once and every prompt below runs on your actual information instead of generic searches and inaccurate scraped data.

STEP 01

Pick your assistant

Choose whichever you have already got open. The setup on the right changes to match.

STEP 02

Add the RootNote MCP

1Open Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors.
2Click Add, then Add custom connector.
3Paste the RootNote MCP URL: https://public-api.rootnote.co/mcp
4Click Add, then Connect, and sign in with your RootNote account.

Works on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team or Enterprise an owner adds it once in Organization settings, then everyone connects their own account.

1Open ChatGPT, go to Settings, then Connectors, then Advanced settings.
2Turn on Developer mode, then go back to Connectors and click Create.
3Paste the RootNote MCP URL: https://public-api.rootnote.co/mcp and authorize with your RootNote account.
4In a new chat, click the plus button and switch the RootNote connector on for that chat.

Needs a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Team or Enterprise), and the connector has to be switched on in each new chat.

1The Gemini app does not connect to MCP servers yet, so use Gemini CLI.
2Install Gemini CLI, then run: gemini mcp add --transport http rootnote https://public-api.rootnote.co/mcp
3Run gemini, then /mcp to confirm RootNote is listed, and sign in when prompted.
4Paste any prompt from this library straight into the CLI.

Google has not shipped MCP support in the consumer Gemini app. Until it does, Gemini CLI, the Gemini API and Gemini Enterprise are the ways in.
